I came from Wuhan of Hubei
Really not knowing about my genealogy
I travelled from Wuhan to Washington
Really not knowing about my speed
I met many in the US, UK and Europe
Really not knowing about my vigour
I went through carers to nursing homes
Really not knowing about my ill power
I sat with many in air-conditioned rooms
Really not knowing about my contagiousness
I attacked all, royal to the ordinary
Really not knowing about indiscriminate targets
I changed my identity signatures
Really not knowing about evolving variants
I stopped the fame of my colleagues
Really not knowing about peer suppression
I stayed with many without disease
Really not knowing about asymptomatic stay
I stood with some prior to disease
Really not knowing about pre-symptomatic stay
I lived with some with fewer symptoms
Really not knowing about mild disease
I took some to ICUs and then to heavens
Really not knowing about their final departure
I have caused a historical damage and I am sorry
Really not knowing about the viral aggression
I decided to help you Johns and Marias
Really not knowing about viral-vector-spike of me
I turned as sputnik, moderna and many more
Really not knowing about the immune strength
I am finally telling you a secret my friends
Hold on to IPCs, you can go on a safe long ride
Yours truly
Corona of 2019
*Foot note
Viruses evolve as part of their adaptation and survival in different host environments in the nature. Viruses do not evolve primarily to attack humans or animals. One post COVID-19 morning, I was thinking about virus evolution. This poem came to being as if the Corona of 2019 has told the mankind about its naivety on different matters that have happened since January 2020 to plea for an apology with advice and help.
